ARISING TEAMS WITH US GOVERNMENT TO FIGHT ECONOMIC ESPIONAGE AND CYBER CRIME

New York, NY - ARISING Group, Inc. and the National Counterintelligence Executive ( www.ncix.gov ) recently hosted a day-long seminar for business leaders in NYC on the subject of Counterintelligence Threat Awareness and Security Issues for Business.

The National Counterintelligence Executive in Washington D.C. sent experts with backgrounds in Intelligence and Law Enforcement to share their experience and insight on Cyber Crime, Economic Espionage and Terrorism Threats to Business . Tim Powell from The Knowledge Agency spoke about the dangers of counterfeit pharmaceuticals and how to track global brand pirates.

Overall, the speakers covered the three classes of Information Warfare: Personal Information Theft; Economic and Industrial Espionage; and Terrorism.

This seminar was offered as part of the US government's counterintelligence outreach program and was the first time the NCIX ever presented this information to the private sector. It was a rare opportunity to hear experts from the FBI, CIA and military intelligence speak on these topics.

Held at the beautiful and historic Union League Club in midtown Manhattan, the presentation was highly professional, engaging and gave a sobering front line view of these threats. The speakers' depth of experience and knowledge of the subject matter was very impressive.

The conference inspired the attendees and moved them to request follow-up meetings to develop Counterintelligence action plans for their companies. ARISING Group is working with the NCIX to plan some smaller scale round table discussions for this purpose.
