New York, NY — Arising Group will host a lunch meeting of The Business Threat Awareness Council with special guest speaker, Doug Miles on Tuesday 22 January 2008 at noon in midtown Manhattan.

The world wide derivatives market is estimated to be over $300 Trillion annually, much of it unregulated with no solid pricing mechanism.  This leads to the volatile nature of these instruments, a volatility that can bring huge rewards, or devastating losses.

Mr. Douglas Miles is the founder, Chairman & CEO of GPE, Inc. www.gpe-inc.com.  He has held senior positions at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets, Deutsche Morgan Grenfell, and Kleinwort Benson.

While at Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Morgan Grenfell Mr. Miles advised some of the world's largest investment management firms and corporations on their use of both derivatives as well as emerging markets assets in achieving their investment strategies.

Mr. Miles has also been a spokesman and panelist for the derivative products industry at various conferences. He was the Chief Marketing Officer and a founding shareholder in a financial software start-up in London.
