Firstrade Securities was a busy but small stock trading firm in the neighborhood of Flushing, Queens in New York City.  In their first decade, Firstrade had built a successful business by providing the local investment community with friendly and personal service.  By 1997, John Liu, the company’s founder and president had a strategic vision for sustainable growth. To realize this vision he needed to move his walk-in client traffic (high maintenance and overhead) to Online (higher efficiency and return) thereby expanding the company’s reach from local to Global.  That’s when he called the Arising Group.

Working with multiple stock market data providers, Arising built and launched a 100% Java based real-time stock market data streaming tool. This real-time stock portfolio tool allows users to build a list of a wide array of stocks which are traded on the NYSE, AMEX, and Nasdaq Stock Market or in the Over-the-Counter (OTC) markets such as the OTC Bulletin Board or Pink Sheets.  This tool enables traders to follow these stocks in real-time without having to refresh the page. Level II Quotes & Charts also allow users to track each market maker's quote and size on a particular stock (or stocks) so they can take advantage of intra-day swings.

As one of the early adopters of online stock brokerage technology, Arising Group continued to work closely with Firstrade on many IT projects throughout the years; projects such as infrastructure design, data center management and hosting, network and system monitoring, and Software development.
